This little gem is the final project for an independent study in Advanced Motion Graphics. It is comprised of 1,267 layers, culminating in over 200 hours of work, and is the winner of Best Visual Effects and Motion Graphics in Artimation 14.

The idea behind this project was to create a futuristic event with an industrial motif based during the turn of the century.

I first sketched our each design on paper, imported those scans into Illustrator to create vector shapes, then exported those shapes into Photoshop for texturization. The characters were created from public domain images of mugshots from the 1920’s.

Backgrounds were shot at the Coronado Theater in Rockford Illinois and the music is “Praise 2010” by Big Chocolate.
